Ingredients

  • 1 Cup
    Carrier Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons
    Shea Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons
    Zinc Oxide
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Carrot Seed Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Vitamin E Oil
  • 25 Drops
    Essential Oils

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except essential oils and zinc oxide in glass jar.

  2. Use a double-boiler to warm ingredients by filling a small pot with 2 inches of water on stove over low to medium/low heat.

  3. Place jar in pot and stir contents until ingredients are mixed.

  4. Add in zinc oxide, stir until mixed well, remove from heat and add in essential oils. With this mixture, this sunscreen is rated at 15 spf, adding 2 more tablespoons of zinc oxide to make it 30 spf.

  5. Place in individual jars and stores in cool place.

  6. These are great essential oils for sun protection and skin healing:
Chamomile, Geranium, Frankincense, Helichrysum, Lavender, Myrrh, Peppermint, Tea Tree.

Be sure to NOT include any citrus essential oils in your homemade sunscreen. Citrus oils are photosensitizing and will cause sunburn.
