Greasy Pots and Pan Cleaner

It’s so fun to clean greasy pots and pans . . .

You can stand at your sink for hours, working your fingers to the bone and tiring your arm out as you scrub-scrub-scrub away.

Here is an all natural abrasive salt soap recipe that helps cut through grease. You can use it on any pots and pans that tolerate abrasive scrubbing well (but you might want to use something else for pots and pans that have a protective coating, which might not respond so well to abrasion).

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons
    Pink Himalayan salt
  • 4 Tablespoons
    castile soap

Instructions

  1. Combine the salt and soap, and mix them with your hands until the soap is absorbed.

  2. Over time the salt soap gets hard, and this is the texture we want. Use a small hard chunk and an abrasive sponge to clean greasy pots and pans. Store the soap in a container with a lid.

  3. I don’t use essential oils in this recipe (not all pots and pans like essential oils). But if you like, you can add 1 drop of Lemon essential oil (Citrus limon).

  4. It always involves a little “elbow grease” to clean greasy pots and pans, but this salt soap can help the process move more quickly.
