Oil of the Week – Basil
Today, we are going to take a look at some fabulous ways to use basil essential oil. It’s become a favorite of mine because of it’s many therapeutic uses, and I can also use it in the kitchen if I don’t have any fresh basil in the garden.
Here are My 10 Favorite Ways to Use Basil Oil
- Adrenal Fatigue – Did you know that over 90% of those with thyroid issues, struggle with some sort of adrenal issues as well? Those two organs are linked together in the endocrine system so supporting your adrenals is a great way to also support the thyroid! Rub 1 drop of basil over the adrenals daily.
- Intense Headaches – Rub 1 drop basil, 1 drop Deep Blue and 1 drop Frankincense over the part of the head that hurts.
- Spider Bites, Bee or Hornet Stings – Rub 1 drop of basil along with a bit of fractionated coconut oil over the bite to soothe.
- Respiratory Support – Rub 1 drop basil and 1 drop eucalyptus over the lungs 2x a day.
- For Thyroid Support – Combine 10 drops basil, frankincense, lemongrass, clove, marjoram and myrrh in a 10ml glass roller ball and top with fractionated coconut oil. Rub 2-3 swipes over the feet 2x a day.
- For added flavor to salads or Italian Dishes – Add 1 drop of basil oil to salad dressing or sauces.
- Occasional Mouth Ulcers – Rub 1 drop of basil over the ulcer 2x a day.
- To Improve Concentration – Diffuse 2 drops Basil, 3 drops Bergamot and 1 drop Lavender.
- To Support the Cardiovascular System and Respiratory System Before a Workout – Rub 1 drop of basil on the bottoms of the feet, and put 1 drop of Peppermint on the tongue.
- To Relieve Anxiety – Diffuse 1 drop Basil, 3 drops Lavender and 1 drop Marjoram.
