Bath Recipes
There is nothing better than having a soothing bath. Choose the one that you need, draw a nice bath, and maybe add some candles around to help complete the effect.

It’s very gentle on your skin. It’s the perfect substitute for soap, especially if you have skin issues. All three ingredients are healing for your skin.

This is a good compliment to the Basic Shampoo.
Basic Shampoo
You no longer have to buy expensive “natural” products with ingredients you cannot pronounce. In addition to being inexpensive to make, this shampoo and conditioner combination worked wonders on my daughter’s curly ringlet hair.
Beach Side Soap
I love the look and feel of this soap. The base is a Shea Butter Soap with oatmeal added for a gentle exfoliant. The top layer is a Goat’s Milk Soap. Both are scented with Brambleberry’s Beach Breezes fragrance.
Congestive Discomfort Bath
Creamy Goat’s Milk Soap
This is a creamy medium to soft homemade milk soap with lots of bubble lather and the beautiful aroma of ylang ylang essential oil. This goat milk soap recipe leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth, it’s a must make for all soap makers.
Cuticle Cream
Cold weather can be tough on skin and cuticles, and can often form dry spots and crack. Making a homemade cuticle cream is a great way to bring moisture and health back to your nails. You can also use this cream on your hands, lips, or anywhere you have dry spots.
Deodorizing Poo Spray
It works so well because the essential oils create a physical barrier, trapping the stink below. You don’t even have to do a courtesy flush (saving you loads of water in the long-run). The ingredients are only three- Vodka, distilled water and an essential oil blend making it a simple DIY project you can whip up in minutes.
Detox Bath
Dry Shampoo
Want to know a secret? You don’t need to wash your hair every day! In fact, it may be better for your hair to take a break from the shampoo every once in a while. Face Wash
The last few years I have experimented with essential oils and other natural items to create my own bath and body products. I thought why couldn’t a facewash be made from them as well, using all pure ingredients instead of drying chemicals that often make your skin worse. Of course I wanted to include the best essential oils that are known for healing and making your skin beautiful! Check out this Homemade Lavender Face Wash! Lavender is antiseptic, antiviral, anti inflammatory, and anti bacterial, while Frankincense has long been used as a disinfectant and astringent. The Argan Oil is included, as it is like a liquid gold for face and hair- hydrating and softening naturally.
I added a 1/2 teaspoon rosehip oil to the original formula for moisturizing.
Foaming Cleaner
Gloomy / Downhearted Bath
Grapefruit Mint Soap
I’ve always been intrigued by the world of soap making. Choosing your own ingredients to make your own special scent, adding colors and textures to make it aesthetically pleasing, and then getting to share those goodies with friends and family just sounds like the best thing ever.
Green Mandarin, Calendula & Vanilla Lip Balm
The basic idea is to first melt the beeswax and the vanilla jojoba, then add the calendula infused oil, and add the Green Mandarin essential oil last. Let the blend stand and harden for a few hours before use.
Measure the vanilla jojoba, calendula oil and beeswax by weight. I use a small kitchen scale to measure weight.

Anti-aging serums can be expensive and contain harmful chemicals. Instead, try this homemade anti-aging serum recipe. It contains nutrients and antioxidants that will help the skin look vibrant and youthful while delivering vital nutrients and hydration.
Homemade Body Butter
[glossary_exclude]
That is my first experience with Body Butter! Suffice it to say…my body LOVES it!
This recipe makes a fairly large batch of whipped body butter. It starts with almost 2 full cups of butters and oils, so my suggested blends for essential oils call for up to 30 drops of essential oils (that’s a very low 0.1% dilution). That’s what I prefer since (1) I’m using the whipped body butter in a fairly large amount all over my body on a daily basis and (2) my primary goal of the whipped body butter is not the therapeutic benefits of the essential oil. You can, of course, adjust the amount of essential oil up or down to your preference.
- 25 drops peppermint (I LOVE the peppermint combined with the chocolate scent of the cocoa butter!)
- 30 drops orange OR tangerine (like the peppermint above, I think citrus smells amazing with the chocolate aroma of the cocoa butter)
- 15 drops eucalyptus and 15 drops spearmint
- 15 drops bergamot and 15 drops grapefruit
- 12 drops wild orange, 9 drops cedarwood, and 6 drops ylang ylang
- 10 drops patchouli and 20 drops tangerine
- 15 drops lavender and 15 drops lemon
- 10 drops helichrysum, 10 drops frankincense, 5 drops sandalwood, and 5 drops lavender
Please be careful adding citrus essential oils (especially bergamot) in high amounts if your skin will be exposed to the sun.
Another recommendation is to substitute shea butter for equal parts of shea, mango, and cocoa butter.
