Essential Oils for Flabby and Sagging Skin

One of the most frustrating affects of losing weight after months of dieting is flabby, sagging skin.  There are several essential oils that we can use to help tighten and smooth the skin.

These oils provide:

  • healing and moisturizing properties to help get younger looking skin naturally, by increasing your skin’s elasticity and tighten the areas of lose skin.
  • penetrate into the lower layers of the skin, regenerating cells, and increasing the collagen production, because they are rich in Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids, retinoid acid, vitamin C which will brighten and tighten skin, fade age spots, restore skin’s elasticity, balance oil glands, and reduce broken capillaries.

1) Homemade skin-firming body oil:

In a 2 oz glass bottle combine 2 tbsp rose hip seed oil and 2 tbsp sweet almond oil, add 10 drops each cypress (the powerful firming oil) and geranium along with 7 drops frankincense essential oils.

Apply to slightly damp skin, using circular motions.

2) Homemade scar and firming cream:

Heat until melted: 1 cup shea butter, 1/2 cup coconut oil, and 2 tablespoons beeswax. Remove from heat and let cool until almost solid (may put in refrigerator to solidify). After cooled, add 15 drops each frankincense, grapefruit, geranium, lavender, & lemongrass essential oils. Blend with a hand mixer until incorporated and creamy. Store in a glass container. Apply a few times daily.

3) Grape seed oil:

Along with being known as carrier oil for essential oils, it is rich in Vitamin E.  As this is a pricey oil, focus on applying this to flabby, sagging skin, massaging in circular motions and allow to soak into skin for an hour before bath.

4) Almond oil:

Also rich in Vitamin E, it is best known for moisturizing the skin which will help in ridding of loose skin and stretch marks.  To aid in renewing the skin tissues, this oil provides strong antioxidants to aid in that repair.  Use a small amount on your stomach and face daily to help with tightening up bit by bit.

5) Mustard oil:

One of the most common oil used to tighten skin, heat the mustard oil to lukewarm, massage into skin for ten minutes and follow up with warm bath.

6) Castor oil:

For a natural way to tighten loose skin, combine lavender oil or lemon juice with a small amount of castor oil.  Apply this mixture every night for best results.

7) Olive oil:

Considered a miracle oil for nourishing the skin with its antioxidants and Vitamin E, massaging your body well with olive oil before your bath will help tighten loose skin.

8) Aloe Vera Gel:

Believe it or not, aloe vera is very good at firming as well as tightening up loose sagging skin.  It contains malic acid the helps to improve the elasticity of skin, natural skin moisturizer, and ridding you of loose skin.  Apply to affected areas, allow it to sit on skin for 15 to 20 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water.  Follow this routine several times a week.
